About Stone & Steam

Built to close
the gap.

After 500+ bathroom projects, one truth became obvious: the finish is judged at the end, but its quality is decided much earlier.

Day 1
Design-led from the start

I built Stone & Steam because I couldn't keep doing "good enough."

After tiling more than 500 projects, I kept seeing the same problem: key design decisions were often made too late. By the time finishes began, layout, wall set-outs, and niche positioning had already limited what was possible.

As the trade responsible for the final result, I knew the outcome could be far better if design and execution were connected from day one.

That insight became Stone & Steam.

We combine early design intent with precision craftsmanship to create timeless bathrooms that feel calm, function beautifully, and stand apart from catalogue-standard work.

Every project is built to raise the standard — not with trend-chasing or generic catalogue outcomes, but with timeless design, precise execution, and detail that lasts.

The turning point
Project Zero
Albion Park Rail, NSW

Project Zero — my own travertine steam shower and marble bathroom — was where the model was proven. I designed and delivered it end-to-end: wall finish points, full-tile niche alignment, custom vanity integration, and the overall feel of the space.

When design leads early, craftsmanship can perform at its highest level.

Standard Mitred edges throughout — designed and built by one hand

My benchmark is legacy craftsmanship — the kind of work people still admire years later.

If we do this right, the final reveal won't just look good. It will land emotionally — for the client and for the maker.

How we work

Three principles.
Every project.

01
Design before
demolition

Layout, lines, and material decisions are locked before a single tile is ordered or a wall is touched. Early decisions are the highest-leverage ones.

02
Clear scope.
No surprises.

Fixed-scope proposals, honest communication, and regular progress updates. You always know where the project stands.

03
Reveal-ready
standard

We don't hand over until the space is complete, clean, and worth photographing. The reveal is the moment everything is justified.
